About Gabila's

Gabila’s Knishes was established in 1921 by Elia and Bella Gabay in New York City and began with a recipe for mashed potato pies. Sold from a push cart, their popularity led to a larger facility in Brooklyn by 1928. As a fourth-generation family business, Gabila’s produces over fifteen million knishes each year and has expanded to include gourmet items. Our products are now available nationwide in stores and online at Gabilas.com.
